The Manchester United captain runs rule over Anthony Martial

Wayne Rooney has backed Manchester United summer signing Anthony Martial to produce many magic moments throughout the Premier League season.

The France international teed up the United captain for the Red Devils’s second goal in a 3-0 victory over Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

I’m sure he’ll bring plenty of magic moments for us

Martial has already scored four goals in five games in all competitions for the 20-time English champions after his big-money transfer to Old Trafford from Ligue 1 side Monaco.

And the 29-year-old striker says the United teenager will play a key role for Louis van Gaal’s side throughout the season.

“He’s been incredible. We have to remember he’s a 19-year-old lad who doesn’t speak English. But the start he’s had has been incredible,” Rooney is quoted as saying by Daily Mirror.

“He’ll be a big player for us throughout the season and in the future, but we need to let him enjoy his football, and I’m sure he’ll bring plenty of magic moments for us.”

Martial became the most-expensive teenager in Europe after his £36m move to the Red Devils on transfer deadline day.
