Man United transfers: Marcos Rojo won’t join Napoli, insists agent
The Manchester United defender is happy at Old Trafford, says agent
Marcos Rojo is happy at Manchester United and won’t be joining Napoli in the January transfer window, according to the defender’s agent.
The Argentina international was restored to the United starting line-up for their 3-2 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon.
Rojo, who moved to the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon following last summer’s World Cup, has found his first-team opportunities in recent weeks after his return to training.
However, the 25-year-old centre-half’s agent Carlos Goncalves was quick to rubbish recent speculation linking the United defender with a move to Serie A side Napoli.
“There is no need to talk about it,” Gonclaves is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
“The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club.”
Sunday’s game was the first match Rojo has started for United this season after his extended summer holiday following his involvement in the Copa America with Argentina.
The Red Devils face Championships side Ipswich Town in the League Cup third round at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
