Man United transfers: Starlet pledges future to Red Devils
Andreas Pereira moves to play down speculation about his future by insisting that he is happy at Manchester United
Andreas Pereira has moved to end the speculation surrounding his future by insisting that he has no plans to quit Manchester United.
The 19-year-old, who is yet to feature for the Red Devils this season, was linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, with Paris Saint-Germain and PSV Eindhoven said to be interested in signing the Brazilian.
However, the teenager insists he is happy to stay at Manchester United and fight for a spot in Louis van Gaal’s first team as he looks to prove himself in the Premier League.
Pereira told Goal: “I want to have a few minutes of playing time this year to show everyone that I am a good player. I think this is normal. We have the best players in the world so I just have to be patient. I would have my chance this year, I know. I spoke with the manager, so everything is going well for me at the moment.
“For me, Manchester United is the biggest club. I came here to play with the first team and win trophies. With Manchester United I want to win. I therefore do not pay attention to what happens in other clubs, I’m totally focused on Manchester United.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Liverpool at Old Trafford looking to return to winning ways after their surprise 2-1 loss to Swansea City in their last outing.
The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League table after having taken seven points from their opening seven top-flight games this term.
