Nacer Chadli disappointed by below-par Tottenham
Nacer Chadli is expecting more from Tottenham Hotspur in the coming weeks
Nacer Chadli admits that Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of room for improvement after their slow start to the new season.
Spurs find themselves down in 16th place in the Premier League table after taking just three points from their opening four top-flight games.
The north London side have scored just three goals this term and were held to a goalless draw by Everton at White Hart Lane before the international break.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Sunderland in the Premier League this weekend.
And Spurs midfielder Chadli admits that there is plenty of room for improvement from the Lilywhites after their stuttering start to the campaign.
Belgium international Chadli is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: “Three goals in four games is not enough for a club like Tottenham. You have to score more and we know that and we’re going to work harder. As an attacking player, you have to score.
“We are creating chances – that’s positive. As an attacking player, if you don’t create chances it’s a big problem, but if you’ve created chances and you don’t score maybe it’s an off day, it can happen to everybody.
“I think we have to work hard and be focused on the day of the game, because we had some good moves and just the last shot was not good. There are only four games gone so there are still a lot of games. Football’s like that.”
Spurs, who finished fifth in the Premier League last season, have lost one and drawn three of their first four league outings this term.
