Petr Cech fires warning at Chelsea ahead of Arsenal showdown
Petr Cech is already focused on helping Arsenal beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime
Petr Cech has warned Chelsea that Arsenal will head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday confident of claiming three points against his former employers.
The Gunners make the short journey across London on Saturday lunchtime as they look to make it three straight wins in the top flight.
I know every corner of the stadium and the space, so for me there will be no surprises
Chelsea head into the game in stuttering form, after having taken just four points from their opening five games to leave them 11 points behind early pace-setters Manchester City.
Cech is set to come up against his former club for the second time this season, after having helped Arsenal secure a 1-0 win in the Community Shield at Wembley back in August.
And the Czech Republic international, who joined Arsenal back in July, is looking forward to returning to his former stamping ground.
Cech is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard: “I have never played at Stamford Bridge in the visiting team so it will be a new experience for me.
“I go to a familiar place but most important for me will be to win the game. That’s the way it goes.
“Obviously it will be new to play against Chelsea but when you start playing the game the only concern you have is ‘can I play my best game and can we win?’
“In a way it is nice that I spent so much time there. That I know every corner of the stadium and the space, so for me there will be no surprises.”
Arsenal and Chelsea are both in Champions League action on Wednesday, with the Gunners travelling to Dinamo Zagreb and the Blues hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv.
