Petr Cech sends message to Chelsea and Arsenal fans

Petr Cech takes to Twitter in the wake of Arsenal's 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday

Petr Cech took to social media to thank the Chelsea supporters for the warm reception he received upon his return to Stamford Bridge with Arsenal on Saturday.

The Czech Republic international lined up against his former side in west London after he left the Blues to join the Gunners this summer in search of regular first-team football.

Cech was unable to keep a clean sheet on his return to Stamford Bridge, however, as second-half goals from Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard handed Jose Mourinho’s men a 2-0 win after Arsenal had Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla sent off.

But the goalkeeper used his Twitter account to pay tribute to Blues supporters and express his frustration at the result.

Cech tweeted:

Arsenal return to action when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup third-round tie at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

Saturday’s loss to Chelsea left the Gunners fifth in the table and five points behind leaders Manchester City.
