The Manchester United midfielder is relishing Sunderland clash

Bastian Schweinsteiger has issued a Manchester United rallying cry ahead of their clash against Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are looking to keep pace with early pace-setters Manchester City after a two-game winning run following victories over Liverpool and Southampton.

The Germany international has been ever-present in the United side over the past couple of weeks following his £6.7m move to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich.

And the World Cup winner took to Instagram to gee his United team-mates up for the visit of struggling Sunderland.

Schweinsteiger wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Game day. Let’s go, Red Devils! #mufc”

The Red Devils moved to within two points of leaders City after their thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s last weekend.

Schweinsteiger won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cups and the Champions League during a decorated spell at Bayern Munich.

United are unbeaten in 23 of their last 25 games against Sunderland in all competitions.
