The Manchester United midfielder is hoping everyone has a 'great week'

Bastian Schweinsteiger is hoping for a good start to a Champions League week.

The Red Devils welcome Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to Old Trafford on Wednesday night in the second game of the Champions League group stage.

United have plenty of work to do after a 2-1 defeat by Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven in their opening game of the group phase earlier this month.

And Schweinsteiger, who won the competition with Bayern at Wembley in 2013, sent a message to all his Instagram followers ahead of a big week.

Schweinsteiger wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Hope you have a great start into the week!”

United are unbeaten in their last six home fixtures in Uefa competitions (five wins, one draw), including the 3-1 success against Club Brugge in August’s play-off round.

This is the first time the Red Devils have entered their second game of a Champions League campaign without a point since 1996/97, when they started with a 1-0 loss at Juventus.

United make the trip to rivals Arsenal in their next Premier League game next Saturday.
