Cesc Fabregas reflects on a positive night for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
Cesc Fabregas has taken to social media to explain that his goal celebration during Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv was a tribute to his new-born daughter Capri.
The 28-year-old Spain international scored Chelsea’s fourth goal at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho’s men returned to winning ways in their Champions League group-stage opener on Wednesday night.
Fabregas also set up Diego Costa’s goal to notch up his 200th career assist.
And the midfielder, who has been criticised for his performances of late, used his social media account to reflect on a positive Champions League win for the Spaniard.
Fabregas shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “A good win last night. Goal for Capri. Assist 200 in my career. 4m followers. #Letskeepitup ⚽️”
Fabregas is set to line up against his former club once again when Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in their next Premier League game on Saturday lunchtime.
The Blues are currently 11 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.
