Frank Lampard sends message to Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech ahead of his return to Chelsea on Saturday
Frank Lampard has backed Chelsea supporters to give Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech a great welcome at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The 33-year-old shot stopper returns to west London for the first time since the Czech Republic international completed an £11m move to Arsenal from the defending Premier League champions this summer.
Cech won the English top-flight crown four times, four FA Cups, the Champions League, the Europa League and three League Cups during a decorated 11 years at Stamford Bridge before his summer switch.
And New York City midfielder Lampard, who received a warm welcome from Chelsea fans despite his move to Manchester City last season, is confident Blues supporters will show their class.
Lampard wrote on his Instagram page: “I know big Pete will get the reception he deserves at the Bridge. Chelsea fans will never forget what he did for the club. Great pro and a great bloke who gave his everything for the club to the end. #legend @petrcech”
Cech has already helped Arsenal beat Chelsea this season after a 1-0 victory over the defending Premier League champions in the Community Shield at Wembley at the start of the season.
Arsenal are six points ahead of Chelsea ahead of their clash.
