David De Gea and Juan Mata look to be in good spirits while on international duty with Spain

David De Gea looked to be in good spirits as he bids to put the summer transfer saga surrounding his future behind him and settle back to life at Manchester United.

The Spanish shot-stopper is currently on international duty with his country as they prepare for Saturday’s Euro 2016 qualifier clash with Slovakia on home soil.

Real Madrid’s failed move to sign De Gea from United on transfer deadline day last week dominated the headlines as the two clubs failed to complete the required paperwork in time for the move to go through.

With De Gea now set to stay at Old Trafford until January at the earliest, the goalkeeper has no choice but to focus on forcing his way back into Louis van Gaal’s starting line-up.

And both he and his United and Spain team-mate Juan Mata looked to be in high spirits as they prepared for Saturday night’s clash.

In his first post on social media since last week’s transfer debacle, De Gea shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Saturday afternoon and wrote: “With the most popular guy in town #Oviedo #friend #amigo 😀⚽️🇪🇸”
