Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela issues a rallying cry for his Spurs team-mates ahead of Sunderland game
Erik Lamela has attempted to rally his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates ahead of their clash against Sunderland at Stadium of Light on Sunday.
The north London side are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season after a return of three points from four games.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are languishing in the relegation zone after two points from their opening four top-flight games of the season.
And Lamela, who was away on international duty with the Argentina national team last week, took to Instagram to urge his Spurs team-mates to victory.
Lamela wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Match day ! Come on guys !”
Tottenham suffered a 2-1 defeat by Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Spurs drew their next games with Stoke City and Leicester City before a goalless stalemate with Everton at White Hart Lane before the international break.
Lamela has started just one game and made a further two appearances from the bench in the Premier League this term.
