Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela sends a message to former Spurs captain Younes Kaboul after Sunday's win
Erik Lamela has sent a message to his former Tottenham Hotspur captain Younes Kaboul after Spurs’s 1-0 win against Sunderland on Sunday evening.
The Spurs midfielder was a second-half substitute as England international Ryan Mason netted an 82nd-minute winner to seal Tottenham’s first Premier League win of the season at the Stadium of Light.
Kaboul completed a move to the Black Cats from the north London club in the summer transfer window after the centre-half ended a six-year spell at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham’s club-record signing Lamela was delighted to see France international Kaboul in the North East on Sunday evening.
Lamela wrote on his Instagram page: “Happy to see you again my friend and get our first win, thanks for your shirt 👍”
Tottenham suffered a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Spurs drew their next games with Stoke City and Leicester City before a goalless stalemate with Everton at White Hart Lane before the international break.
Lamela has started just one game and made a further three appearances from the bench in the Premier League this term.
