Erik Lamela is looking forward to putting the speculation about his future to one side and re-focusing on football with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Argentina international was linked with a permanent transfer away from White Hart Lane during the summer months, with a number if clubs in Italy reported to be interested in luring the playmaker back to Serie A.

Lamela has failed to find consistent form since signing for the White Hart Lane outfit from Roma back in 2013.

However, the 23-year-old now looks determined to prove himself at the Lilywhites as he and his team-mates gear up for their Premier League trip to Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

Lamela posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Friday afternoon and wrote: “Happy to be back training with my team, come on you spurs! #coys”
