James Wilson managed to chat to Ruud van Nistelrooy during Manchester United's loss to PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday
James Wilson took to social media to reveal his delight at having met one of his idols, Ruud van Nistelrooy, during Manchester United’s Champions League trip to PSV Eindhoven.
The 19-year-old was an unused substitute as the Red Devils slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Dutch side in the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
The game was overshadowed by Luke Shaw’s horrific leg break in the first half of the group-stage clash.
But Wilson managed to find some time to chat to one of his childhood idols Van Nistelrooy, who was at the game.
Wilson shared the picture above of himself chatting to the former Netherlands striker on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Although it wasn’t the result we wanted on Tuesday, managed to meet an idol of mine @rvnistelrooy #legend 👏🏼”
United head into Sunday’s game in second place in the Premier League table, five points behind leaders Manchester City and fresh from their 3-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Red Devils have 11 points from their first five games.
