Jordan Henderson congratulates Daniel Sturridge on his double in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa
Jordan Henderson has sent a message of congratulations to Daniel Sturridge after the Liverpool striker bagged a brace in a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday.
The England international has spent most of the past five months sidelined with injury after the 26-year-old underwent an operation on his hip at the end of an injury-plagued 2014/15 campaign.
However, Sturridge scored his first Premier League goal since March at Old Trafford in the second half to double Liverpool’s lead after James Milner’s second-minute opener.
And the former Chelsea and Manchester City man capped a special afternoon with a second to seal three points for the Merseyside outfit.
Liverpool captain Henderson, who is currently out injured with a fractured foot, posted the above snap and wrote the following caption: “Great win from the lads today! Congratulations James Milner on first goal for liverpool. Good to see this man back and dancing @danielsturridge 👊”
Sturridge has scored 37 goals in 57 Premier League games for Liverpool since his £12m move to Anfield from Chelsea in January 2013.
