The Liverpool striker is happy to secure a much-needed three points

Daniel Sturridge took to Instagram to reflect on a vital three points for Liverpool after he helped to fire the Reds to a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

The England international has spent most of the past five months sidelined with injury after the 26-year-old underwent an operation on his hip at the end of an injury-plagued 2014/15 campaign.

However, Sturridge scored his first Premier League goal since March at Old Trafford in the second half to double Liverpool’s lead before he restored their two-goal cushion in the 67th minute.

And the former Chelsea and Manchester City forward took to Instagram to reflect on their close-fought win at Anfield.

Sturridge wrote on his Instagram page: “Ima Count my blessings… Result was a wavedown, 3 points in the bag. #redordead #dstudge”

The Liverpool man’s strike partner Danny Ings impressed alongside Sturridge although the former Burnley man was unable to score in his third successive game.
