Lucas Leiva has taken to social media to send a message to his Liverpool team-mates and issue a rallying cry ahead of their Europa League clash with FC Sion at Anfield on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder played the full 90 minutes at Anfield as Brendan Rodgers’ men sealed a 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Merseyside to move up to eighth place in the Premier League table.

Liverpool boss Rodgers had found himself under increasing pressure in the build-up to Saturday’s game, but the win has helped to ease the strain on the Northern Irishman.

And Lucas posted the photo above on his personal Instagram account on Sunday night, along with the simple message: “Together !!! #team #fans #liverpool”
