Once again, Juan Mata shows his class with message to Man United team-mate

Juan Mata has proven once again that he is one of the classiest footballers in the Premier League with a heartfelt message for Luke Shaw.

The Manchester United defender suffered a double leg break after a heavy challenge from Hector Moreno in a 2-1 defeat by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Shaw, who is set to undergo surgery on the injury problem in Manchester, has been the recipient of a flood of supportive messages on Twitter from team-mates, rivals and former clubs.

But United midfielder Mata opted to take to Instagram to pen a rather lengthier message for the 20-year-old full-back following a night that the defender will want to forget in a hurry.

Mata shared the photo below and wrote: “I go now to bed, frustrated and disappointed about the result of the game. But soon, it will be another game and we’ll put everything to win again. That’s this sport… But now i’m very gutted for this man… That’s the @lukeshaw23 i know. You are always smiling, my friend. Keep doing that, be strong and think positive. We all want you to come back soon, we will miss you for some time, but we will still enjoy in this season with your football, Luke.”

Shaw moved to United in a £27m deal from Southampton in 2014 ahead of the summer’s World Cup.

The Red Devils full-back was part of Louis van Gaal’s side that kept three successive clean sheets in their opening three Premier League games.
