The Manchester United defender is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season
Marcos Rojo is relishing Manchester United’s trip to Southampton after the defender returned to training on Thursday afternoon.
The Argentina international is still waiting to make his first appearance in the Premier League this season after he was granted an extended break following the Copa America.
The 25-year-old centre-half did rack up his first completive minutes of the season after he was brought on in the first half of United’s 2-1 defeat by PSV Eindhoven in their opening Champion League group-stage game on Tuesday night.
And Rojo, who moved to United following last summer’s World Cup, reassured Red Devils supporters that he is focused on their impending trip to the south coast to face Southampton on Sunday.
Rojo wrote on his Instagram page: “Back to training with Southampton in sight. #RojoIsRed #MUFC”
Rojo made 25 appearances in all competitions during his debut Premier League campaign, and it hoping to rack up many more should he be given a prolonged run at the heart of United’s defence.
Before making the £16m switch to the North West, Rojo shone for Sporting Lisbon and Spartak Moscow, and has amassed 37 Argentina caps to date.
