James Wilson savours his goal for Manchester United's Under-21 side
James Wilson was happy to get on the score sheet after the striker helped Manchester United beat Everton 3-1 on Monday night.
Sam Johnstone, Jesse Lingard and Wilson were handed their first competitive outings for the club’s Under-21 side this term and the latter pair managed to find the back of the net in the victory over the Toffees.
Meanwhile, the senior United side were 3-2 winners against Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon as Martial scored twice for the Red Devils but Wayne Rooney failed to score his first Premier League goal of the season.
And Wilson sent manager Louis van Gaal a timely reminder of his qualities with his performance for the Under-21 side, taking to Instagram to reflect on three points.
Wilson wrote on the photo-sharing app: “90 minutes and a good result last night 👍 Nice to get on the scoresheet also @manchesterunited ⚽️”
Wilson scored two goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils last season.
The United youngster made his senior debut against Hull City under caretaker manager Ryan Giggs in 2014.
