Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling takes to Instagram to send a message to Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Raheem Sterling may have spent the past week with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the Manchester City forward still had a message for the Arsenal star on Instagram.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sterling were handed starting berths for England’s 2-0 victory over Switzerland in their Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley on Tuesday night.

Sterling has enjoyed a promising start to the Premier League season after he scored his first City goal in a 2-0 victory over Watford, while Oxlade-Chamberlain has been limited to cameo appearances.

And the £49m summer signing appeared to give Oxlade-Chamberlain an ego boost with a message that he posted on photo-sharing app Instagram for the 21-year-old.

Sterling wrote: “@alexoxchamberlain big up yourself”

The 20-year-old England forward completed a big-money summer move to City from Liverpool in July.

Sterling scored 18 times in 95 Premier League games for Liverpool.
