Former Liverpool captain gets ready to watch Aston Villa clash
Steven Gerrard is still doing everything in his power to inspire Liverpool to victory ahead of Saturday’s crunch clash against Aston Villa.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers desperately needs three points to stem the growing uncertainty surrounding his future after a four-game winless run in the Premier League.
Former Reds captain Gerrard left the Merseyside outfit to join Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy in the summer after a decorated 17-year spell at his boyhood club.
But unsurprisingly, the 35-year-old has lost none of his affection for his beloved Liverpool despite his move stateside, posting a message for his former team-mates.
Gerrard wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Few hours kip then up to watch the Reds ..come oooon 👊 6 bells”
Liverpool have only beaten Stoke City and Bournemouth in the Premier League so far this season.
The five-time European champions have drawn with Arsenal and Norwich City, whilst Rodgers’s men lost to Manchester United and West Ham United.
