Piers Morgan mocks Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s lack of spending

Piers Morgan was left very frustrated by Arsenal's lack of spending on transfer deadline day

Piers Morgan has never been one to shy away from making his views on Arsenal heard on social media – and Tuesday evening was no exception.

The Arsenal shareholder and celebrity fan was left exasperated as Arsene Wenger opted not to bring in any new signings on transfer deadline day to add to the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea earlier in the summer.

The Gunners have been one of the least active Premier League clubs in the current transfer window, with the north London side the only team in Europe’s top five leagues not to sign an outfield player.

And Morgan used his Twitter account to express his dismay at Arsenal’s lack of spending during the summer months.

Morgan tweeted:

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League table after taking seven points from their opening four top-flight games.

Wenger’s men sealed a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend and are next in action against Stoke City at Emirates Stadium after the international break.
