Piers Morgan slams Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s lack of transfer activity

The celebrity Arsenal fan posts sarcastic Twitter message after Champions League setback

Piers Morgan has slammed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s failure to sign any outfield players in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners lost 2-1 to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League group-stage opener on Wednesday night after Olivier Giroud was sent off before Theo Walcott’s late consolation.

Arsenal were the only club in European football not to sign an outfield player in the summer after the FA Cup holders snapped up goalkeeper Petr Cech in an £11m deal from defending Premier League champions Chelsea.

Celebrity Gunners fan Morgan posted a heavily sarcastic tweet following Arsenal’s surprise defeat in Croatia last night.

Arsenal make the trip to defending champions Chelsea in the Premier League in Saturday’s early kick-off at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners have collected 10 points from their opening five Premier League games after three wins, a draw and a defeat.

Wenger’s men are already five points behind early pace-setters Manchester City.
