Pochettino delivers latest Tottenham injury update ahead of Arsenal tie

The Spurs manager confirms Nabil Bentaleb, Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason won’t play against Arsenal

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Nabil Bentaleb, Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason won’t face Arsenal in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night.

Bentaleb, Dembele and Mason were noticeable absentees as the north London side were 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

And Pochettino confirmed that the Spurs trio hadn’t recovered from their respective problems in time to face their bitter rivals in the Capital One Cup.

The England international was forced off minutes after he scored his late winner in a 1-0 victory over Sunderland at Stadium of Light earlier this month.

Bentaleb, meanwhile, wasn’t named in Pochettino’s matchday squad after the Algeria international picked up an ankle injury ahead of the Black Cats clash.

Dembele was stretchered off during Tottenham’s goalless draw with Everton at the end of last month after he suffered a knee problem.
