Real Madrid legend wants Man United star David De Gea to move

Real Madrid legend Guti wants Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea to move to The Bernabeu

Guti says he wants Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea to complete a move to Real Madrid.

The Spain international was denied a move to The Bernabeu after Madrid allegedly failed to send the appropriate documents to the Spanish Football Federation before La Liga’s 23:00 BST deadline on Monday night.

De Gea hasn’t played a game for the Red Devils this season after Louis van Gaal deemed the 24-year-old to be in an unfit mental state and selected new signing Sergio Romero in goal.

Former Madrid midfielder Guti says Los Blancos supporters would love to sign De Gea in the next transfer window.

“De Gea is one of the two or three best keepers in the world and it is a shame what has happened,” Guti told Spanish newspaper AS.

“All of Madridismo was hoping that he would come this season. The president did everything possible to bring him here, but it wasn’t to be.”

De Gea has less than 12 months remaining on his current Red Devils contract meaning the goalkeeper could join Los Blancos on a free transfer next summer.
