Rio Ferdinand: Arsenal or Liverpool should have signed Ashley Williams
Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand questions why Arsenal or Liverpool didn't sign Ashley Williams
Arsenal or Liverpool should have signed Ashley Williams in the summer transfer window, according to Rio Ferdinand.
The Wales captain produced yet another mature performance for his national team as Chris Coleman’s side played out a goalless draw with Israel in Cardiff on Sunday.
Williams has also impressed for Swansea in the Premier League this season after Garry Monk’s side made an unbeaten start to the season, including a 2-1 win against Manchester United last time out.
And former Red Devils defender Ferdinand can’t believe top-four outfits Arsenal or Liverpool didn’t recruit the defender to bolster their defensive options over the past number of years ahead of the likes of Dejan Lovren and Gabriel Paulista.
Just watchin the Wales boys. how Arsenal or Lfc haven't gone for Ashley Williams last few yrs is beyond me-better than what they have bought

Arsenal and Liverpool have three goals in their opening four games in the Premier League.
The Reds snapped up England right-back Nathaniel Clyne and 18-year-old Joe Gomez in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal, meanwhile, signed Petr Cech in an £11m deal from Premier League champions Chelsea.
