Theo Walcott has been voted Arsenal’s player of the month for September after a solid month for the forward.
The England international netted four times for Arsenal in all competitions to help them move up to fourth place in the Premier League table heading into Sunday’s clash with Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.
Walcott scooped the prize with just less than a quarter of the vote on 22 per cent, while midfielder Mathieu Flamini was close behind on 18 per cent following the Frenchman’s sparkling performance in the 2-1 League Cup win at local rivals Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Mesut Ozil was third behind the duo, with 11 per cent of the vote.
Walcott has largely been deployed as Arsenal’s first-choice striker ahead of Olivier Giroud this season.
He will be hoping to feature when the Gunners host league leaders Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Francis Coquelin was voted Arsenal’s player of the month for August.
