Three reasons why Daniel Sturridge return is key for Liverpool

Three reasons why Reds striker Daniel Sturridge return is key for Liverpool

His goal-scoring record

In the 2013-14 season, Daniel Sturridge scored 28 goals for club and country. He has a great scoring record and Liverpool have struggled in his absence. In their first two games this season, they won both games 1-0, the second game coming from a goal that could have been called for offside. They are missing that scoring ability. Sturridge gives Liverpool a genuine threat in the box. He uses clever touches and skills that can prove hard for most teams’ defences. He also creates chances for his teammates. Sturridge is versatile for the Reds and that is what they are missing at the moment.

His sublime final touch

While Christian Benteke was a great signing for the Merseyside club in the summer transfer window, Sturridge has that sublime touch that fans love to see. He is one of the most talented young strikers that England has seen in a long time. Unfortunately, the young star is plagued by injury but that does not take away his sublime finishing ability and the final touch. Liverpool have also struggled to find their fine form in terms of producing that great final touch to get the ball into the back into the net. Sturridge will give them that ray of light when he returns for injury.

Can teach others to become a top-class striker

Danny Ings has spoken of how he hopes playing alongside Sturridge at Liverpool and his new team-mate can teach him to become a top-class striker. Ings admitted he would welcome the return of the striker, as he believes it will help him along with his game. Sturridge has a lot of experience as a top striker. He scores a lot of goals, he works hard and he is sharp. With Liverpool signing new people in the summer transfer window, the other players can learn a lot from him. Sturridge is closing in on a return to action and it will be music to Liverpool fans ears when their star man comes back from a lengthy time on the side lines.
