He can orchestrate any game

Mesut Ozil is often criticised for being lacklustre in games. Fans and pundits complain he does not get involved enough and can often go missing. But in recent games this season, Ozil has proved the exact opposite of what is said about him. Arsenal fans saw what their star signing is capable of. In the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, Ozil was dominant in midfield and created nine chances for his team-mates. When in his preferred No10 role, he commands the game and is nothing short of impressive. After being deemed fit enough to play in Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland, Ozil had his chance to shine and was an important player in their 3-1 win. His precise passing was what impressed many Gunners last night as they took to Twitter to express their delight for their player. If Ozil is given the time to execute his creativity, he can be in charge of any game from the midfield.

Can be dangerous in front of goal

Ozil scored a decent amount of goals last season after coming back from a lengthy period on the sidelines. He netted five goals in the league and the FA Cup last term. However, Ozil recently stated that he is looking to be more dangerous in front of goal. Manager Arsene Wenger has tipped Ozil to be “one of the great players” of the Premier League this season. Ozil was reported saying that he wants to improve on his goal-scoring tally. He believes that in order to do so, he needs to become more “egotistical”. The German international was in fine form in second half of last season, he is physically stronger and more equipped than ever before for Premier League football. If Ozil can take more chances in front of goal, he could be a dangerous man with assists and goals for the Gunners.

He is one of the Premier League’s most efficient midfielders

There is evidence to suggest that over his two seasons with the north London club, Ozil has been able to become one of the most efficient midfielders without really anyone noticing. At the end of last season, Ozil had the third-best minutes per assist record in Premier League history, with 14 assists in 224 minutes of game time. Considering he missed the first half of the 2014-15 season, it is quite impressive that he sits third behind Arsenal’s own Jose Antonio Reyes and Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas. If Ozil can complete this season without any serious injuries, he could be a star player for Arsenal. With fans not happy that Wenger did not add another forward in the summer transfer window, Ozil could prove the answer to their problems if he can add goals to his game.
