Aaron Ramsey says he is gutted after the Arsenal midfielder suffered an injury during a 2-0 win against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The Wales international had to be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 57th minute after the 24-year-old midfielder pulled up with a suspected hamstring problem.

Arsenal went on to claim victory thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil in the final 12 minutes at Emirates Stadium in their must-win Champions League game.

While Ramsey was thrilled for his Arsenal team-mates, the Gunners midfielder couldn’t disguise his disappointment to succumb to injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Ramsey could be set for a spell on the sidelines following his injury setback.

“He [Ramsey] is alright but very down because he told me that his hamstring is quite a tough one. He is out,” Wenger told his post-match media conference.

The Arsenal boss also admitted that Alexis Sanchez had been struggling with fatigue during the game after a busy few days for Arsenal’s talismanic Chile international.

Ramsey has scored one goal in nine Premier League appearances for the north London side this season.
