Alberto Moreno believes he is the perfect player for new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 48-year-old is set to name is first Liverpool starting XI as Reds manager after he succeeded Brendan Rodgers in the Anfield role last week.

I am always aggressive, energetic and give my all, so it matches Klopp’s style of playing

Moreno enjoyed a run in the Liverpool first-team in recent weeks after England Under-21 international Joe Gomez fell out-of-favour under Klopp’s predecessor.

The Spanish full-back received an addition boost after Gomez suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament representing his country during the international break.

And former Sevilla left-back Moreno is confident that he can thrive in Klopp’s system if given a chance to shine against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

“He has said to us that he wants an intense team – a team in which everybody has to run,” Moreno told Liverpool Echo.

“He doesn’t want individualism and I like this way of thinking. He wants us working together, he wants us to be a team all of the time, and I like this idea.

“I think it matches my way of playing. I am always aggressive, energetic and give my all, so it matches Klopp’s style of playing.

“Above all, we need to keep working – to keep working hard to make a place for myself in the team and keep working under his orders.

“He demands a lot of intensity during training, he wants us playing full throttle.

“He brings passion and emotion to each training session and that is, in my opinion, the key to making us feel together.

“He is passionate about football, he loves football and he transmits that to us. Now we have to take that onto the pitch.”

Moreno scored his first Liverpool goal in a 3-0 victory over Spurs in north London in the Premier League last season.

The 22-year-old full-back moved to the Merseyside outfit in a $12m deal from La Liga side Sevilla in 2014.
