Andy Gray: Why Jurgen Klopp will get first Liverpool win against Southampton

Andy Gray has backed Liverpool to beat Southampton and secure their first victory under Jurgen Klopp on Sunday evening.
The Reds have drawn back-to-back games under the German after he was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’s successor earlier this month.
I think Klopp will get his win. It should be a really open game with lots of chances and lots of goals, but I think it’ll be the opposite
Liverpool haven’t won since a 3-2 victory over Gray’s former side Aston Villa at Anfield at the start of October.
Former Everton and Villa forward Gray believes returning Liverpool striker Christian Benteke can fire Klopp’s men to a narrow win against Southampton.
Gray wrote on Paddy Power’s blog: “Liverpool have become the draw specialists of this season. They don’t win many games and they don’t lose many games and fixing that is going to be Klopp’s first job.
“It will take time. After two games he probably has more questions than answers. Southampton are on a good run and they somehow threw away a 2-0 lead against Leicester last week.
“They will feel that they should have won that game, but they will come to Liverpool full of confidence.”
Gray added: “I think Klopp will get his win. It should be a really open game with lots of chances and lots of goals, but I think it’ll be the opposite. I think 1-0 for Liverpool.
“If he picks Benteke I’d be looking at him to get the first goal. They don’t have a host of goalscorers. Liverpool have only scored more goal in one game this season and that was the 3-2 win against Aston Villa.”
Liverpool played out a goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Merseyside outfit’s first game under Klopp.
The Reds were held to a 1-1 stalemate with Russian side Rubin Kazan at Anfield in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Southampton lost 2-1 in this fixture last season before the Reds eased to a 2-0 victory at St Mary’s.
