Piers Morgan is surprisingly confident that Arsenal will have bragging rights over bitter rivals Manchester United judging by his Twitter message for Wayne Rooney on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger’s side host the Red Devils fresh from a shock 3-2 loss to Olympiacos in the Champions League group stage at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, leaving their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage in tatters.

United, meanwhile, have won their last five games in all competitions, including a first Champions League group-stage win thanks to a 2-1 victory over Bundesliga side Wolfsburg at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

However, Morgan felt confident enough to taunt United captain Rooney on Twitter ahead of the visit of Louis van Gaal’s side.

United have beaten Liverpool, Sunderland and Southampton in their last three Premier League outings.

The Red Devils edged to a 2-1 win against the north London side in this fixture last season, although the Gunners were 2-1 winners in the FA Cup at Old Trafford.
