Petr Cech says Chelsea are still Premier League title favourites.

The defending champions are 10 points behind current Premier League leaders Manchester City after a 3-1 defeat by Southampton at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

The season is long and Chelsea are still favourites in my eyes

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are two points clear of Arsenal and Manchester United in the title race, whilst Jose Mourinho’s side are languishing in 16th place.

Arsenal goalkeeper Cech, who moved to The Emirates from Chelsea in an £11m deal in the summer transfer window, explained why the Bleus still have a title shot.

“Their form surprises me because Chelsea are among the best in the Premier League,” Cech is quoted as saying by GOAL.

“I am no longer there, so it is hard for me to evaluate what is going on. Anyway, the season is long and Chelsea are still favourites in my eyes.”

Chelsea have already lost to title rivals City, Crystal Palace, Everton and Southampton in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho’s men have already lost more games in all competitions this season than in the 2014/15 campaign.
