Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Watford trip
Arsene Wenger delivers the latest Arsenal team news ahead of Saturday's trip to Watford
Laurent Koscielny will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, Arsene Wenger has revealed.
The French defender has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury during the 3-2 loss to Olympiacos in the Champions League last month.
However, Wenger has confirmed that the centre-half has a chance of being fit for Saturday evening’s clash at Watford.
Wenger told Arsenal’s website: “Koscielny has a slight chance to be back on Saturday. He has a definite test tomorrow.”
The Frenchman also provided positive updates on the fitness of both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini in the build-up to Saturday’s clash.
He continued: “Arteta and Flamini are back in full training. We need to see how they are and how confident they are, but we can’t rule it out.”
And the Arsenal boss is hopeful that the north London club will not have any fresh injury concerns following the international break.
He concluded: “From the internationals we only have positive news. We are still waiting for Campbell, Alexis and Ospina to return, but they all texted back to say they are OK, so we just have to see if they were objective in their assessment.”
Arsenal head to Watford looking to build on their 3-0 win over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium in their most recent outing. That victory left the Gunners second in the table and two points behind leaders Manchester City.
