Arsenal and Manchester United would have to pay in the region of £70m to secure Marco Verratti’s signature, according to Paris Saint-Germain star’s agent.

The Italy international is one of Europe’s most highly-rated midfielders after becoming a key part of PSG’s title-winning squads over the past three seasons.

Verratti has been touted as a potential target for La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, whilst Arsenal and United are thought to head interest from the Premier League.

However, the PSG midfielder’s agent Donato Di Campli warned interested suitors that Verratti is valued at £72m by the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Di Campli told France Football: “If Kevin De Bruyne signs for City for €80 million, then €100 million for Marco does not seem a heresy.

“I hear here and there that Pogba is €100m. For me, Verratti is worth as much.”

Verratti has won two Ligue 1 titles and the Coupe de France since moving to the French top flight.

The Italian midfielder has made two assists in eight Ligue 1 appearances for the Parisian club this term.
