Chelsea 1 Liverpool 3: Jose Mourinho reacts to Stamford Bridge loss
Jose Mourinho claims he has "nothing to say" after his Chelsea team were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool on Saturday
Jose Mourinho insisted that he had “nothing to say” after watching his Chelsea side lose 3-1 to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge as they slumped to their sixth defeat of the season.
Ramires had headed Chelsea ahead but two goals from Philippe Coutinho and one from substitute Christian Benteke heaped further misery on the Chelsea boss.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Mourinho said: “I have nothing to say. I have nothing to say. I have nothing to say.
“I’m so sorry I have nothing to say. The fans are not stupid. I am not worried [about his future]. “
Mourinho was later pressed into some more detail in his post-match interview with BBC Sport: “What I see from my players was good until a moment where they felt it was impossible to do better.
“The fight goes on but sometimes there are fights that are very impossible to win. I can play against any team, against any manager, win, lose but more than this…”
The visitors fell behind in the fourth minute at Stamford Bridge when Cesar Azpilicueta was allowed time and space to cross from the left and Ramires duly headed the Spaniard’s cross home.
However, Liverpool’s positive play was rewarded deep into first-half stoppage time, when Coutinho swiveled on the edge of the box and curled a delightful shot past Asmir Begovic to haul his side level.
The visitors then took the lead in the 74th minute when Coutinho fired home via a small deflection after good play from substitute Christian Benteke.
And Benteke made the three points secure when he fired home low from 18 yards out after poor Chelsea defending.
