Chelsea transfers: Andriy Yarmolenko responds to Blues link
Andriy Yarmolenko refuses to be drawn on the speculation linking him with a transfer to Chelsea
Andriy Yarmolenko has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a transfer to Chelsea after Jose Mourinho reportedly watched the forward in action this week.
There has been speculation that the west London club are keen on signing the striker as Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho was pictured in the stands at Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Ukraine on Monday night, with reports claiming that the Portuguese coach was keeping tabs on the forward.
However, the striker himself insists that he was unaware that Mourinho was at the game and refused to comment on the reports linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Yarmolenko told Korrespondent: “Mourinho was at this game? I don’t know what to say, how do I know why he came?
“I didn’t know that he was at the game, I was thinking about something else – about the important game against Spain.
“Ask him who he was looking at.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action when they take on Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues, who are currently 10 points behind leaders Manchester City, are looking to return to winning ways after their surprise 3-1 loss to Southampton in their most recent outing.
