Danny Welbeck delivers latest Arsenal injury update
Danny Welbeck is hoping to be back in action for Arsenal in the new year following knee surgery

Danny Welbeck says that he expects to be back in action for Arsenal in the New Year following his lay off with a knee injury.
The England international striker has not featured for the Gunners since April after undergoing knee surgery in early September to address the problem.
Arsenal did not give a specific time-scale for Welbeck’s recovery but the north London club said that they expected the forward to be out for “months”.
Now, the forward has revealed that he hopes to be back in action at the turn of the year as he bids to regain full fitness in the lead-up to next summer’s Euro 2016 tournament in France.
Welbeck told The National: “It’s difficult to put an exact date on [a return] – around the New Year.
“After I had the operation I was in a leg brace for about four weeks, which wasn’t easy. I had to do a lot of machine work, about six hours a day.
“It’s good to finally be out of the brace now and walking. It feels like I’m getting that little bit closer to getting back out on the pitch.”

Welbeck scored eight goals in his first 34 games for Arsenal after joining the north London club from rivals Manchester United last summer.
His last appearance for the club came in the 2-1 win over Reading back on 18 April.
