Don Hutchinson: Liverpool guaranteed trophies with Jose Mourinho

The former Liverpool striker cheekily suggests Jose Mourinho as an option

Don Hutchinson is optimistically hoping that Liverpool could lure under-fire Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to Anfield.

The Reds sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday afternoon after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is the heavy favourite to succeed Rodgers, whilst Carlo Ancelotti has also been linked with the vacant position.

However, former Liverpool striker Hutchinson is hoping the Reds could pull off a coup and appoint Mourinho as their new manager.

Chelsea slumped to their fourth Premier League defeat of the season after a 3-1 loss to Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

The Blues are current in 16th place and 10 points behind leaders Manchester City, who were 6-1 winners against Newcastle United earlier on Saturday.

Mourinho has won the Premier League and League Cup since the Portuguese coach returned to west London in June 2013.
