Fantasy Football: Cech, Kane and more – this weekend’s best picks
Here are the best picks for your Fantasy Football team ahead of this weekend's Premier League fixtures
Petr Cech (£5.6m) While Arsene Wenger may have recklessly rested Petr Cech for a crunch Champions League game earlier this season, Fantasy Football players won’t be dropping the 33-year-old. The Arsenal number one was one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers last weekend after he made four saves in a 2-1 win against Everton. Only Sunderland shot stopper Costel Pantillimon made more!
Aaron Creswell (£5.6m) The West Ham defender created one of the Hammers’s goal in a 2-1 victory over defending Premier League champions Chelsea last Saturday. Creswell is the best-performing defender in the West Ham squad so far this season. Creswell should add further points to his current tally of 38 against a low-scoring Watford side.
Kurt Zouma (£5.5m) Considerably cheaper than his fellow Chelsea centre-halves Gary Cahill and John Terry, Kurt Zouma represents good value for money at £5.5m. Like Creswell, the France international is also the best-performing defender in the Chelsea squad. With Liverpool susceptible from set-pieces, Zouma could win you goal or assist points with his aerial ability.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.2m) The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has hit form just in time for the visit of Arsenal. The Iceland international proved a thorn in the Gunners’s side last November with his equaliser before Bafetimbi Gomis netted a winner. Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a brilliant free-kick at Southampton last weekend as well as making 18 passes in the opposition’s area. Arsenal will need to nullify Swansea’s playmaker if Arsene Wenger’s side want to keep pace with Manchester City.
Kevin De Bruyne (£10.6m) The £55m summer signing may have underwhelmed in his first Manchester derby last weekend, but Kevin De Bruyne can hit back with a winnable game against Norwich City. The Belgium international has amassed 53 Fantasy Football points after six games thanks to his tally of three goals and three assists. The former Chelsea man should be able to pick apart a Norwich defence that conceded six at Newcastle a matter of weeks ago.
Harry Kane (£9.3m) Harry Kane silenced his critics with a terrific hat-trick in a 5-1 win against Bournemouth last weekend. The England striker will get the chance to add more goals to his record for the season with Tottenham Hotspur hosting manager-less Aston Villa. His price is good value considering the fact that Kane scored 21 times in the Premier League last season.
Kane would be a smart choice after his treble. Otherwise, City’s collection of stars would all make good captain choices, particularly De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling or Wilfried Bony.
