Fantasy Football tips: Sanchez, Sturridge and more
Here are the best picks for your Fantasy Football team ahead of this weekend's Premier League fixtures
Hugo Lloris (£5.0m) Hugo Lloris is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. However, the Frenchman’s value reflects Tottenham Hotspur’s fragile nature at the back. Lloris made seven saves in a 4-1 victory over Manchester City last weekend, and he’ll need to be in similar form against Swansea City.
Toby Alderweireld (£5.0m) The Tottenham centre-half opened his Spurs account with a goal in their 4-1 win against City at White Hart Lane. The former Southampton defender also made 10 clearances, two blocks and won one tackle. These stats highlight a man coming into form. He is good value, too, at (£5.0m).
Nacho Monreal (£5.6m) Something of a left-field choice here but Nacho Monreal has been Arsenal’s best-performing defender this season. In fact, only Alderweireld and Virgin van Dijk outperformed Monreal statistically last weekend. The Spanish full-back won two tackles, made three interceptions and eight clearances. Arsenal will require more of the same against Manchester United. Monreal could expose United’s weakness at right-back, an area where Wolfsburg had joy at Old Trafford mid-week.
Alexis Sanchez (£11.1m) It has taken the best part of seven weeks, but Alexis Sanchez has finally rekindled some of his best form. The Chile international scored his first Arsenal hat-trick in a 5-2 win against Leicester last weekend. Sanchez also scored in a shock 3-2 loss to Olympiacos mid-week, with the South American the only player to come out of the Champions League defeat with some credit.
James Milner (£6.7m) The free transfer has proven an instrumental figure for Liverpool since Jordan Henderson’s injury blow. James Milner opened his Reds account with an early goal against Aston Villa last weekend before he teed up Daniel Sturridge. The England international completed 24 passes in the opposition half and attempted seven crosses. The stats suggest Milner will add to his assist tally. He is a bargain at £6.7m.
Daniel Sturridge (£10.5m) Liverpool supporters were understandably ecstatic to see Daniel Sturridge score his first Premier League goals since March. The 25-year-old looked back to his clinical best with two brilliant finishes against Aston Villa. Sturridge should start the Merseyside derby on Sunday. He has a good record against Everton, scoring three times in four games.
Harry Kane (£9.2m) Don’t fancy Sturridge’s £10.5m price tag? Another England striker who looks to be finding form is Harry Kane. The Spurs man scored in a 4-1 win against City at The Lane. It would be no surprise to see Kane amongst the goals at Liberty Stadium with the monkey off his back.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side bounced back from their poor performance at Spurs with a vital away win in the Champions League. The Citizens host Newcastle on Saturday, and Sergio Aguero looks the smart choice for Fantasy Football captain.
