Gary Neville slams ‘arrogant’ Arsenal ahead of Man United clash
Gary Neville has not been impressed by Arsenal's approach to the big games in recent years
Gary Neville has accused Arsenal of being “arrogant” in the way they prepare for big games ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.
The Red Devils head to north London looking for a victory to keep their place at the top of the Premier League table heading into the forthcoming international break.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from their shock defeat by Olympiacos in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
And former Manchester United defender Neville has criticised Arsenal’s approach to facing the big team as the Gunners gear up for Sunday’s clash at The Emirates.
Neville told Sky Sports: “[Arsenal] don’t prepare for a big game like it’s a big game. I used the word arrogance and naivety earlier in the season.
“They prepare for a big game like they’re going out to play a game of football in the park.
“The week that they’ve had, losing in Europe, puts a little bit more pressure on them being at home.”
United secured a 3-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford last weekend, while Arsenal beat Leicester City 5-2 at the King Power Stadium.
A win for Arsenal would move them level on points with their fierce rivals, who are currently one point clear at the top of the Premier League.
