The Republic of Ireland took a big step towards automatic qualification to Euro 2016 after Shane Long scored a second-half winner against Germany at The Aviva.

The Southampton striker netted a dramatic winner with 20 minutes remaining as Martin O’Neill’s side beat the reigning world champions and move to within a point of the Germans.
