Ian Wright says Arsenal can pip Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have the chance to move to the top of the Premier League table if the north London side can beat Everton on Saturday evening ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby.

We can chase Man City down especially giving up possession like we did and catching people on the break. It is very, very exciting times

Arsene Wenger’s side have won their last three games without conceding a goal after beating title rivals Manchester United, newly-promoted Watford and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

And Wright, who was part of Wenger’s title-winning side in 1998, is feeling bullish about the north London side’s chances of ending their 11-year wait to win the Premier League crown.

“The problem I had with Arsenal at the start of the season is you can’t predict when the defensive brilliance is coming. Now we’ve done it again,” Wright told BreatheSport.

“If Arsenal can continue to keep their defensive discipline and play that tight with Walcott, Sanchez and Ozil up front on the break, the Champions League doesn’t bother me.

“I don’t think we’re going to win the Champions League. We’ve got a better chance in the Premier League. They’ve got a very good opportunity this season.”

Wright continued: “We can chase Man City down especially giving up possession like we did and catching people on the break. It is very, very exciting times.”

Arsenal haven’t lost at home to Everton since 1996.

United were 3-0 winners against Louis van Gaal’s side in the most recent Premier League fixture at The Emirates.

The Gunners eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory over newly-promoted Watford last weekend before a famous win against Bayern mid-week.
