Danny Ings may have moved to Liverpool in the summer, but the striker clearly has a soft spot for Burnley.

The England Under-21 international left Sean Dyche’s men in the summer on a free transfer after he scored an impressive 11 goals in 35 Premier League games.

Ings has netted twice in five top-flight games for the Merseyside outfit this term before the 23-year-old suffered an injury setback in training.

The Liverpool striker ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in October and Ings is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season.

However, the Winchester-born striker is making the most of his free time and heading to Ewood Park to watch former club Burnley face Blackburn Rover in Saturday’s Lancashire derby.

Ings scored in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City in September before he netted Liverpool’s goal in a stalemate with Everton in the Merseyside derby earlier this month.
