Jamie Redknapp says Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino are the two most-important men at Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international ended his mini goal drought last weekend with a brilliant hat-trick in a 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Dean’s Court.

Kane’s performances have been good this year but he’s just been snatching at his opportunities

Kane has endured a slow start to the 2015/16 campaign, which has prompted accusations that the reigning PFA young player of the year was a one-season wonder.

However, former Spurs captain is thrilled to see Kane return to goal-scoring form and the retired midfielder backed the Tottenham striker to go on a run.

Redknanpp told Sky Sports: “The two most important people at Tottenham right now are Kane and his manager Mauricio Pochettino – who I’ve been so impressed with.

“They are key to Tottenham doing well and to have their main man firing again will be a huge boost.”

Kane scored 31 times in 51 games in all competitions in a breakthrough season at White Hart Lane, scoring 21 goals in the Premier League.

And former Liverpool and Southampton midfielder Redknapp can’t see why Kane won’t match last season’s tally if he can continue his form against Bournemouth.

Redknapp continued: “People were questioning whether he was just a one season wonder after he’d scored just one goal for Tottenham in his first 12 appearances this term.

“But after seeing him score a hat-trick against Bournemouth last weekend, I’m expecting him to go on a run.”

“Kane’s performances have been good this year but he’s just been snatching at his opportunities,” Redknapp added.

“Those three goals against Bournemouth will settle him down, though, and I see no reason why he can’t go on to match the 21 goals he scored in the Premier League last season.”

Tottenham face Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday night.
