Liverpool have sacked Brendan Rodgers after a mixed three-and-a-half year spell at Anfield.

The Northern Irishman’s contract was terminated with immediate effect after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

The 43-year-old led Liverpool to a second-place finish in the Premier League in 2014, but failed to secure a top-four spot in his other two seasons.
